Brinson shines in loss to Lafayette
3-18-11 By John Bullard
Madison County High School sophomore Tamela Brinson continued to impress her coach last night as Lafayette County came to Boot Hill and left with a 10-6 win. Brinson was moved up from the junior varsity to shore up the shortstop position when Whitney Stevens was injured. Last night Brinson promptly responded by going 2 for 3, scoring 2 runs, five RBIs with a solo home run and a grand slam homer. Nicole Davis took the loss for the Cowgirls. She gave up 12 hits including a double, walked one and struck out three. Morgan Smith was 1 for 4. Skyler Hanna was 1 for 3. The MCHS junior varsity closes their 2011 season this afternoon in Tallahassee against Florida High at 5:00 p.m. Coach Sonja Bass and the varsity squad will take on the Seminoles with the first pitch at 7:00 p.m.
