I have been watching PETA for a while now. I used to support them as a little girl, not knowing all the facts yet. PETA has been killing more animals every year , saying that they are “saving” them. They do this without a vet checking on them to see whether or not they could be saved. ASPCA asks for money for their law enforcement officers, not to help out shelters in need.
You can find PETA info: http://www.facebook.com/PETAKillsAnimals
According to records from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, PETA killed 1,911 cats and dogs last year while placing just 24 in adoptive homes. Since 1998, a total of 27,751 pets have died at the hands of PETA workers.

i support Craig and Caboodle Ranch. if i recall correctly, i first heard about Caboodle featured on Yahoo.com about a year ago. the only thing that would make me support Craig 100% is if the medical and vet records where available online. i understand that these are probably hard to acquire and post online, but i certainly hope they come out in trial where it matters. another is if Dr. Lewis provided a statement on the website.
i really hope Craig gets a great defense attorney. i also hope that at trial, they combat Peta and ASPCA’s videos (which i believe to be manipulated) with Craig and Nenetta’s home videos, especially the ones with visitors praising the ranch. from what i can see, if Craig had something to hide (i.e: sick wounded cats) he wouldnt allow visitors at any time and certainly no pictures if he had inadequate facilities, which he didnt. it is very easy for a cat to fall to disease, especially when they live 90% outdoors like the Caboodles. if what Caboodle claims to be true about Craig and Dr.Lewis treating these cats, then there was something being done, and health doesnt occur over night.
ALSO, in my opinion being a cat owner myself, cats are mostly not very open creatures, they need time to get to know and trust you . if these animals where in any kind of harm, they would never run up to Craig and be affectionate towards him as seen in the videos.
one last thing…now that Peta and ASPCA have captured these cats and kittens, they are now cooped up in crates instead of enjoying the outdoors and the many, many objects of entertainment
Craig provided at the ranch. (the homes, fountains, toys etc.) i hope justice is served for Craig who devoted his life to the ranch and also to these cats, who are now under enormous stress in a new environment.

  3. A PAWS For Craig says:

With a feline’s normal aversion to water, it is surprising that a cat would enjoy being on a small boat, off shore with his owners, particularly hanging around the boat’s edge where he could easily fall into the ocean. In this case, however, the cat’s natural curiosity wins out as he has “discovered” dolphins alongside the boat, something he’s never seen before. The cat is so fascinated with the playful creatures that he invites them to join in his favorite kissing game – and they do! They are just as curious and fascinated as the cat. http://www.slothster.com/2352-Cat-On-Boat-Plays-With-Dolphins.html

    TOO CUTE!

  4. A.T. says:

I fully support Craig Grant in this horrible situation. I have sent an email to every address I could find for officials in Madison County, Florida, ASPCA, and PETA.
If people are as outraged as I am with this injustice, do the same thing. Fight for Craig and his cats! Sign petitions, send letters and emails, let everyone know that this was wrong.

The following are links to existing petitions in the Caboodle Ranch case, please sign them to help get word out.

Don’t give up Craig. We will be supporting you. God bless you.

  6. Ken Robbins says:

PETA is on face book tell them what you think, remember a lot of people think PETA is GOD and out to do only good they don’t know the truth and they don’t know about the Caboodle Ranch. also the PETA web site PETA is trying to stop people from giving Craig money to help with his lawyer fees so PETA is right no matter what and no one can think any other way!!!! I wish I was a lawyer I be there to help Craig in a hart beat if I had money to pay for a law firm to help Craig he would have it from day one.
if anyone has any other way to help please say so, Craig is one man he has no money but PETA is world wide and has big money.

What a shock to see what has happened. I was to have taken my kitties there next month. I am elderly and unable to keep them and wanted a a good home for them. I cannot think of why 2 groups
would close down a facility instead of trying to help them out knowing that it was doing what it was
formed to do. Never again will I send cash to PETA or ASPCA never. Now, those poor animals are
living in FEAR and feeling like they are on death row……..many will be no doubt. Peta and ASPCA should have to care for them for the rest of their lives at that Caboodle Ranch fixed up not destroyed.
    What a disgrace……..and I will be sending money for Craig’s defense….
I hope people realize some things can be manipulated in videos very easily. The scenes can be made to look horrific when they are not like that in reality.
I have worked with animals all my life…….some days are hectic and crazy….and things look messy and unkempt. But the over all picture of the animals shows the care that was given daily.
Shame on PETA and ASPCA what a BLACK eye for animal sanctuary groups .

One reader said PETA kills 90% of its rescues? How is that possible???????

    Mary

  8. D. Apple says:

I too am saddened by what happened at the Caboodle ranch. I have stopped sending my monthly donation to the ASPCA. I’m pretty sure the ASPCA and PETA euthanized most of the animals. I will start donating to a local no-kill shelter, where cats are not kept in small cages and I will let the ASPCA know why I am no longer sending contributions to them. Maybe Craig was a little zealous in his endeavor, but I know he had a pure heart. The local no-kill animal shelters here are ALWAYS full. I am constantly seeing on their websites, how they can’t accept anymore cats. So when I heard about Caboodle Ranch, my plan was to donate my house to them (so they could sell it) and have my cats transported to their site. It seemed to be my only hope. I am pretty sure I am going to outlive my cats.

I lost a ton of respect for PETA long before this happened, now I’m not so sure about the ASPCA.

  9. Mary C says:

I visited Caboodle Ranch last July and the cats looked happy and healthy. I read in the article that the ASPCA sent out that the cats all ran up to them and jumped in the carriers. These cats were used to visitors coming to see them and loving on them. I’m sure they were shocked when the so called rescuers stuffed them in carriers and then stacked them in a windowless trailer. One of my sisters told me it reminded her of box cars loaded with Jews being sent to concentration camps. I don’t understand why PETA did this. I almost feel sorry for the ASPCA as they got sucked into this after the fact, except they LIED in the story that they sent out to their weekly update. I must go and email them and let them know why I won’t be continuing to send them monthly donations. Craig and Nanette you are both in my thoughts and prayers!!! Nanette I hope you get your babies back very soon.

  10. KT says:

I never said they weren’t meant to live in rural areas, I said that it is hard to keep illness from spreading in that kind of environment especially with that many cats.

    http://www.tampabay.com/features/humaninterest/article1151027.ece

  11. Concerned says:

CatNCat, you’re missing KT’s point…. He shouldn’t have had that many cats to begin with.. 700 is just too many for one person to keep track of. Many suffered because of that.

  12. Dee says:

This place is just adorable .There’s no denying that. The [problem of what I’ve seen for openers ,none of the cats get shots or even spayed/neutered.To openly say he would never put an animal down(even sick ones). Just cruelty done up pretty. An animal hoarder with money to spend to make his sickness look pretty. What happens if even one cat grets rabies? Just imagine. Hoarders are always such nice likable people but it doesn’t mean they can just endanger all the animals and…humans .Totally irresponsible. LOOK at the big picture people! Just because its done up cute doesn’t mean it’s safe.

  13. CatsNCats says:

Cats aren’t meant to live outside in rural places? I think if the cats could talk they’d tell you they’d rather be in the safety of Caboodle Ranch where they’re fed, don’t have to be scared of strangers killing them, don’t have to worry about getting hit by a car, and have their own cat world to live in complete with cat houses, instead of being stuffed into metal cages waiting to be gassed unless someone adopts them. Do you think he should have kept all the cats INDOORS? That would be a hoarding situation. This was not a hoarding situation. People who are abusing animals and hoarding don’t welcome a continuous stream of people and TV crews in to take photos and videos to post online. I think PETA made a huge mistake here.

  14. KT says:

And no matter how wistfully idyllic a free-range cat sanctuary might seem, anyone who’s ever worked for or done heavy volunteering with a rescue organization or shelter can see some immediate problems with the arrangement:

    - There’s a reason bleach and hand sanitizer are the responsible shelter’s best friends: anywhere you have a lot of animals, illness will spread rapidly. Keeping everything clean and keeping sick animals from mingling with healthy ones are not optional. A wooded rural lot is just about the worst place in the world to keep a cat from picking up an illness, and a 700-cat ‘ranch’ is just about the worst situation for keeping an illness from spreading. If you’re wondering how 75% of the animals were sick, there’s your answer.

    - The fact that Grant refused to ever (ever!) euthanize an animal in his care is untenable. Look – we all have to make decisions for our pets regarding what’s best for them. Some of us – like myself – would never let a beloved pet spend his or her final days with intolerable suffering. Others just can’t bring themselves to kill their own companions, and instead do everything in their power to lessen the pain as best they can. If you’re in the latter camp, I understand the temptation to sympathize with Grant’s position – but life for a cat slowly dying in the outdoors is very different from the kind of palliative care you might try to provide for your own pet. For a relatively unmonitored outdoor cat, “letting nature take its course” may well mean dying alone in the rain, unable to make it to shelter or food.

    - Imagine, for a moment, trying to regularly monitor 700 individual cats that ran loose on your property. Could you do it? Would you know if Cat #502 had a UTI? Would you notice if Cat #393 had an abscess under his hind leg? Would it occur to you that Cat #649 had been steadily losing weight? In a shelter environment, enough people have enough one-on-one interactions with the animals to ensure – with relative certainty – that most major health problems will be discovered. This is simply not the case when you have a large number of animals roaming free and avoiding human contact.

  15. CatsNCats says:

I usually donate to PETA but this whole story has me thinking otherwise. If you have 700 cats there will always be a lot of sick cats. I have three cats and one of mine got an eye infection that took weeks to clear up with meds. I can’t imagine how many get sick with 700. I just am seeing a lot more HAPPY HEALTHY cats than sick ones and I’m not sure if this raid was such a good idea.

  16. MargieQS says:

To Craig, don’t give up. We are on your side and we are praying for you.
Dear Lord, please give Craig the courage to face the trials, wisdom to understand about thier agenda and the will to continue to fight for the love of homeless cats. Give him strength and good health always. Amen.

  17. Bryce says:

I’m not much of a cat person to be honest but these videos brought a tear to my eye to see that how happy he is and the cats too. then its all whisked away on a whim….its maddening to see. it pisses me off even more wishing i could do something other than spam the crap out of this and the injustice of it all. but i WILL be sharing this with everyone i know and i will try to get something built up to help….

  18. Ken Robbins says:

There a story on this on the ASACP web site, I didn’t watch the Video but the Cats I see look good and there a wheelbarrow in the background look like he been cleaning also if things are so bad there why did it take a year to raid him ? also he been taking in Cats for years so why now ?
Is the ASACP taking money from PETA ? to do this ?

  19. Who Cares! says:

Bob Barker Building will be PETA’s West Coast hub http://news.yahoo.com/bob-barker-building-petas-west-coast-hub-005652616.html Associated Press

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bob Barker’s name has been attached to a game show and a cause for decades. Now it’s attached to a building, too.
For decades, the former game show host urged “Price Is Right” viewers to spay or neuter their pets. After he retired from the show, he donated $2.5 million to renovate a Los Angeles building that will become the West Coast headquarters of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
PETA officials and Barker will be on hand Thursday for a red carpet, all vegan, dog-friendly grand opening.
The Bob Barker Building on Sunset Boulevard has a new art deco façade, a rebuilt public sidewalk and eco-friendly cork floors, and will have rooftop solar panels.
It will house PETA’s media, marketing, youth outreach and campaign departments.

  20. sook says:

Shame on PETA/ASPCA. They will never see my money again.

  21. Chris says:

Just want to let people know that there is a growing amount of support for Craig and a growing amount of anger towards PETA in China. The whole world is watching and PETA’s so-called evidence is not impressing anyone. Chinese people in Hong Kong and mainland China are aware of what happened and taking action to show support for Craig!

(P.s. Editor, Thank you for posting my previous comment. I used the a-word once and should have edited that out myself before posting. Thanks for keeping it clean for me!)

  22. knottypine says:

Chris , I hope your shelter is not in Madison or they will be coming for you in retribution .

  23. Chris says:

SHAME ON PETA! This was a CYNICAL, BRUTAL, DISINGENUOUS publicity stunt. 4 months waiting for a cat to die?!! That’s not an investigation, that’s murder-by-neglect on the part of the so-called “investigator.”

What next, going after old ladies?

PETA’s obsession with euthanasia has poisoned its organization. I find this sickening!

I’m a vegan, an animal rights activist and I run a small shelter for dogs. WHAT PETA has done is sickening!

If the guy had problems, help him! Take some of your 30 million dollars a year in donations and address the problems!

Instead, PETA set him up. I saw the video. YOU HAD TO ADD A HORROR FILM SOUNDTRACK!??!

WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP CRAIG?
Can someone hire a law firm to fight Peta on this one?

I FULLY SUPPORT A BOYCOTT OF PETA!!! DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THEM!

PeTA euthanizes more than 90% of the animals it takes in each year. If PeTA was running Caboodle Ranch, all those cats would be dead by now!

  24. Monika Courtney says:

The “system” is on a sick power trip always going after those who mean well. Nazi mentality and gestapo methods are ruling this “land of the free”… we are all puppets on the string of the elitists who run the show. Control freaks, arrogance and self-serving agendas, who do not serve the community nor people like Craig and his mission are the norm. The norm is BAD. When an individual does all he can, and someone in the ELITE is not satisfied, the ELITE better step up and join the work in the trenches like Craig did – but no, the pencil pushers on their tushy seats rather destroy a good thing than get their sorry butts out there. SHAME on all who did this, boycott PETA. http://www.nathanwinograd.com/?page_id=166
Scroll down a bit and on the right hand side you will see a section called “The Truth about PETA”. Here you will learn all you need to know about PETA. They do not care about animals. They want to kill them all. They want to stop all rescues, all shelters because they believe keeping cats and dogs as pets is a form of animal slavery. They feel the animals are better off dead.

  25. Kathy J says:

Shame on PETA/ASPCA for taking away the best thing these cats may ever know. Craig is more then a caretaker. These cats love him as much as he loves them. Sure would like to see the animal cruelty you’re referring to. Anyone that knows a cats temperment knows that they are not being neglected. Give this man his life’s work and mission back to him.

God bless you Craig and all you stand for.

  26. Dee says:

I have been trying to make heads or tails out of all of this since it was reported and have kept Craig on my heart and mind, sure hope he survives this crucifixion he’s going through. His mantra needs to be the saying about “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” Hang On and Hang In Craig, this too shall pass.

One of my favorite videos of the Caboodle Ranch is the Colbert Report. I guess someone got their britches in a wad after the viewing…it stated in the video that Craig already had 650 cats and was hoping for 1000. I guess the ball got started rolling after the show aired, 1/3/2011. That’s a Shame.

    http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/369694/january-03-2011/the-enemy-within—caboodle-ranch

God Be With You and Yours Craig!!

  27. WarmandFuzzy says:

WarmFuzzy’s Shelter & Sanctuary sits on 60 acre’s, twice the size of Caboodle Ranch. We are home to 36 cats, some are feral, semi-feral & tame. Those that are tame are available for adoption. Being the primary caretaker of these cats that is all that we will house at one time to make sure all the cats are taken care of properly. All cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested & quarantined for a period of time before being released to the general population. The hardest part of this job – being able to say “NO”. We have an “open door” policy – you can come visit us anytime you want to, pictures of our cats & facilities & progress are continuously being posted on our FaceBook account. Over the years we have worked with many hoarder cases. They all start out with the best of intentions, develop the “only I can take care of these animals properly” attitude. It gets out of control, then the fear sets in – “I can’t let anybody come in to help or else they will call the authorities, the cats will be taken away from me, I will be evicted or arrested.” In order to run a sanctuary/shelter you need a Plan A, B & C & you need to stick to them & the rules you put in place – ie – all incoming cats are spayed, neutered, vaccinated, tested & quarantined. We are a 501c3 non-profit located in Drexel, MO.

  28. BoRoar says:

I’ve been following the work of Caboodle Ranch for over a year now, and I donate monthly. I live too far away to volunteer, but I believe in what Craig is doing for the animals. There are plenty of people that have been to the Ranch and can discuss the condition of the cats and their living areas. Hopefully they can come forward and share their knowledge. I don’t understand how lies and misinformation can be presented in place of facts.

  29. Catwoman says:

    Opps *Humane Societies..

  30. Catwoman says:

Please stop lumping the ASPCA in with Peta. The ASPCA is taking care of cats that desperately needed medical attention. You say you love animals yet you chastise the organization that is giving the cats the care they weren’t receiving at the ranch. Yes, I feel sorry for Craig, but not because the cats were removed. They are finally getting proper medical care. Thank you ASPCA and all the other Human Societies from all around Florida and Georgia that are helping these cats get better.

  31. Colleen says:

I do NOT belive PETA nor do I belive the SPCA. The SPCS is the smae organization that is trying to sue to get “custody” of Patrick the starved and almost dead Pitt Bull back from a place that brought him back to health and loved him and now he is in a loving forever home, the ASPCA is trying to say he is their property.

PETA, KILLS a WHOPPING 90% of the animals they allegedly SAVE. HELL NO TO PETA, and HELL NO to the ASPCA !!
I have seen multiple videos of Caboodle Ranch, no way shape or form were these animals neglected. Yes, they all looked so starving and that’s why Craig knew so many of the cats by name, are you FREAKING KIDDING ME ?!?!

I do not for one minute believe that the video was nothig but STAGED !!!

they did this because they did not want a NON SHELTER, KILLING TYPE place like this to exist any longer.

  32. Jersey Kitten says:

Well I’m no expert in this feild however I can’t help but notice the obvious differences in these videos and PETA’s. These videos show broad areas of the ranch where PETA focused on cats inside the infirmary, close up and possibly with a fisheye lens sometimes. In these, Craig Grant was able to speak and talk about everything. In PETA’s, a misrepresenting phony was looking for bits of footage, chasing a cat that had three legs so it would run and look bad for their followers, implying whatever propaganda they want it to be. I could go on but why bother? Any third grader should be able to see what PETA’s motives are.

  33. Concerned says:

You all say Peta staged their video.. Well who’s to say that these videos weren’t staged as well?

  34. Lesly says:

I see nothing wrong whatsoever with this place. Yes, there are a lot of cats, but holy crap he does an amazing job of taking care of every single one of them BY HIMSELF. This man has dedicated his whole entire life to these cats and I think it’s the most selfless thing anyone could do. I just can’t and don’t understand why anyone in their right mind would do ANYTHING to take this away from him. Not only did they destroy this man’s life, they destroyed every single little life of every single one of those cats. It’s just disgusting to me that anyone would want to destroy this amazing place. I wish there were more people like Craig out there. It seems like people who actually give a damn and have the compassion and the heart to give everything they have for these innocent animals ends up getting weeded out by the evil for despicable no good reasons. Leave him alone. Find something better to do with your time instead of destroying innocent harmless people’s lives.

  35. Caboodle Ranch Lover says:

Craig Grant, if you are reading this, I am so sorry these sub-human vile people failed you. I came very close to passing out when I read what they did to you. WE KNOW THE TRUTH!!! You are a beautiful man, with a heart of gold who loves those cats like no other. Your property was a dream, adorable happy cats roaming around and hanging from trees, a clean safe property like no other. A true cat haven. You have no idea how many people love you, I have seen HUNDRED’s of posts on facebook who are absolutely horrified what they did to you. We will stand by you, until you can open again. WE SUPPORT YOU….. 100%!!!!!!!!

  36. Catwoman says:

There are two sides to every story. I will not be swayed by Peta’s shock value video.. I just want what is best for those cats.

  37. Gerhard says:

    PETA schäme dich.

  38. Ken Robbins says:

Last year I had to re home my best friend I wanted so bad for him to go to Caboodle but there was no way to get him there Today if I had to do it again I would still want him to go to Caboodle.
we need to ask some large groups to help Craig there some big money trying to take Caboodle down Craig is just a little guy doing a big job it going to take big money to win this war.
PETA should be helping Caboodle not trying to take it down!!!! would they prefer to see these cats out on street having unwanted kittens getting hit by cars or kill by dogs ?

  39. Lori says:

This man is amazing. I wish I were half the person to do what he is doing. What an inspiration to us all. I wish him success and happiness for him and the cats he not only rescues, but loves so dearly. We need more people like this in the world.

  40. Pauline Leadbetter says:

Oh look at those poor, poor cats! So fat and sassy, and obviously SOOO Neglected and people shy! And oh NO! some are wearing COLLARS as they make ready to attack and devour as the only food they’ve seen in ages, the man who dares encroach on thier territory… and look at all the kittens wandering around! Obviously, spay and neuter are unheard words here.

What a despicaple thing these supposed ‘Animal Wellfare’ organisations are doing. One man who instead of crying in the dark about cruelty to animals, actually puts his time and resources into REAL action gets the shaft.

All the good luck Craig, a good heart and good deeds shall not go unnoticed.

  41. Dale Swisher says:

I brought two cats to Caboodle in June, 2010. It was a painful decision, but it was better than taking them back to shelter. Either one or both of the cats constantly urinated in the house. I threw out my new carpet, a couch, a chair. The vet said that both cats would have to be on “mind-altering” drugs. Which ones? It would be trial and error and may not ever work. I’m sorry, but I do not have the money to buy new furniture on a regular basis, and don’t want to have drugged cats.
I would not take them to a shelter where they would be caged–plus, I knew it wasn’t fair to have anyone adopt cats with bad toileting habits. You know the cats would have been killed. Having them live outside was not an option. I live in northern NJ with major highways nearby, coyotes, dogs running loose.
I contacted Nanette, and drove to FL. I was told I had to have vet papers with shots noted, and proof of neutering, which I did. When I turned the cats in, I received a paper saying I had signed my cats over to the ranch. In the next few months, I got email photos of both cats–they were big and distinctive, so I knew them. Caboodle was a perfect solution.
I kept in touch with Nanette and went back to FL for 5 days last March, and was going this March again. Last March’s visit was the most terrific, relaxing, enjoyable volunteering I have ever done, and I’ve done a lot.
This action by the undercover PeTA agent disgusts me, as does the apparent collaboration between Animal Control and the Sheriff ‘s office.
The groundswell of Caboodle fans is growing. I’m sick of the lack of humanity shown by officials in Madison County. Caboodle Ranch was already established and running well. Why not cooperate and make it better instead of destroying cat lives, and destroying human dreams. Also, is there any effort being made to arrest the person going onto CR property and shooting cats who weren’t caught in the rescue? Or is that okay down there? John, I hope you can investigate and get some answers.

  42. paola antonucci says:

shame on you Peta , you really su(#, instead of sending a spy for filming why you do not send help , vets , money and food ? Craig is an angel he has the best intention for the kitties , all he needs is help in every aspect to run a ranch with such amount of cats that he took in to comfort them and love them . i had the privilege to know Craig and it was one of the most motivated things happen in my life , Ill do anything for him and the kitties ……Peta spend your millions in safe animals lifes not to hired idi**s celebrities to get glamour in magazines

  43. martha says:

A true story from the Ranch…

Back in November 2011 I took my precious baby Nala to the Ranch. For three years to no avail I struggled to break Nala’s bad potty habits. After trying everything I knew I could no longer keep her as an indoor cat. I knew that if I took her to an ASPCA run shelter she would be immediately put down for this problem. I found the Ranch and after much research took her on a six hour drive to the Ranch.

Once there, I was met by Craig who immediately sensed my emotional distress. He looked me straight in the eyes and told me to take my baby home. When I said I couldn’t he reassured me that everything would be ok and that she had a wonderful forever home. He looked over her paperwork and made sure that everything was in order and then took me on a quick tour of the Ranch. Along the way he pointed out different cats knowing many of them by name. He showed me where the new cat buildings would be put and comforted my heart during a very difficult time.

I was completely impressed by how clean the Ranch was and how happy the cats were. If it was anything else I would not have been able to leave her.

I am so outraged at what has taken place and will NEVER donate to the ASPCA again. My contributions will be to no kill shelters who lack political agendas and simply care for animals. Seeing the story in the newspaper and the horrible things being said that I know are not true breaks my heart.

Craig, you are an amazing angel. In my hour of distress you comforted my soul. You gave many cats, including my Nala, a chance at a wonderful life that they would not have had otherwise. Whatever happens, remember the beautiful babies with their different personalities and how much we all love you!

My thoughts and prayers are with you!

  44. Birgit Enke says:

This incredible action has spread to Germany. PETA Germany called Mr. Grant as Animalhorder. I talk with them online for days which is great for this nonsense.
In the real criminals dare not approach you but to private individuals, which destroys their life’s work really brave of PETA
    I would like to help!

  45. Joy L. says:

I am sickened and so upset I can’t even talk without crying. I had just brought 2 cats in Feb. this year. Because we rescue cats as well but, can’t keep all. If i knew the ASPCA was going to be so vengeful in taking happy and loved cats I would not have left my babies. I havespent time as well as my husband volunteering to help paint and clean. What is wrong with this picture. Craig took sick and broken cats that he loved and was willing to get them well. They had a good and a wonderfull life living in their little houses or in the barn he had built. Would these babies have been better off dead or thrown in the street which I have seen or taken to a facility and killed. He gave them all a Wonderfull Cat Life!!!
I cry everyday and want to get my 2 cats back but, have been told they are being used for evidence. What a pile of crap. The ASPCA and PETA are all about THE Almighty DOLLAR they do not give a Crap about the welfare of these babies. The new always portrays the worst. If PETA cared and knew he needed help THEN WHY DID THEY NOT SEND HIM HELP!!!!! I will testify if give the change we love you Craig and want his place back!! Sounds like politics are so responsible for these outrageous accusations. I pray everyday that these people who lied are held accoutable when it’s time for them to be judged by GOD as liars and haters. Please contact me if I can be witness for his defense. I just hope for all the cats going thru this trauma they survive this WITCH hunt cats do not like being shuffled around like a bag of potatoes. I miss my Baby Girl and Onyx.

The caboodle ranch looks a hell of a lot better then the animal shelter (WTH?) Even the cats are better…Feel sorry for Mr. Grant and his babbies

This is just a big post of “awww”. It shows how much Craig really cares for the cats AND how much the cats care for him.

Great Job John….. Again this shows too much government in our lives. People that do GOOD like Mr. Grant should be commended for what he does. The world needs more people like him. Thanks for sharing the true side of this story John.

Thank you John. I’m from NJ and have spent a week volunteering at Caboodle, I did not see anything like what is described. I also agree that it was awful for the PETA agent to not help a sick cat, if in fact that video was of a Caboodle cat. Craig did nothing but care for his animals. Why not reopen Caboodle and have more oversight? Some of the comments by people who have never been are incorrect. The place was NOT crowded and dirty. The cats had plenty of food, water, shelter. Of course improvements could be made, and the ranch was close to fulfilling all requirements on the new EAH permit. The raid was the criminal act, not Craig’s behavior. The majority of the cats were healthy. There were some with skin conditions, and URIs but that is the case in any shelter. The vet made regular visits. CR passed all Animal Control reviews. Always with the intent of making life better for the cats. The newspapers are just taking PETA and ASPCA side without presenting the other side of the story. This is a tragedy. I hope Caboodle fans can band together and help Craig and the cats. If so, count me in.

Craig Grant has done a wonderful job of saving cats. PETA could have helped with the few sick cats, but chose instead to film and then destroy a beautiful natural wooded paradise for the cats. A quarter of a million bail for Craig? Outrageous! All of his money and time went to caring for the cats. WILL ANYONE HELP HIM NOW?
PETA go to the Orient and save the ones crowded in cages behind restaurants waiting to be eaten.

  51. Gemini says:

The only thing Mr. Grant is guilty of is caring to much! Watch the video’s carefully you can’t fake the affection he has for his cats! People need to JUDGE less and HELP more!!!

  52. Lanette Brightwell says:

Shame on PETA and the FSCPA……Craig was trying to do a great thing and save these cats lives! Those agencies should have HELPED, not destroy innocent cats lives. I feel PETA and the FSCPA are cruel…they should have been jailed…..not Craig!

Maybe if the grounds were set up like a zoo. Hire groundskeepers, maintenance and most importantly a vet that is on the grounds everyday. Craig has already built cat houses that look like our favorite shopping stores [like a Wal-Mart] and our government buildings like the City Hall. IF Wal-Mart, Target, Sears, K-Mart, Family Dollar, Dollar General, PETCO would jump in and help sponsor the Caboodle Ranch…it could have been one of the best zoos in the world! Craig would build many more cat houses with lights and heat or air conditioning and have them wired so that the air conditioning would only turn on at a certain temperature [so the same for heat]. Make sure the grounds are not just fenced with high fencing, but make sure the cats can’t get out or off the grounds. Craig had already spent his life savings to help these cats, so it is time for the community to step in and help him. The Caboodle Ranch was so close into becoming an attraction that could charge an entrance fee to visitors or have school tours through the grounds in covered walkways to see the cats in their natural settings. Have petting areas for the kittens and adult cats. So Wal-Mart…..why not step up? or Target….? or PETCO…….? All Craig needed was some help not to be destroyed…..

  53. Cat Sunn says:

Last year this place was great……the enemies have done nothing to help. THey just continually slandered, bashed, threatened him and now have destroyed a good person with great intentions. PETA the monsters that they are, followed around sick cats for MONTHS without HELPING them at all. How could they? PETA LOVES sick animals…it brings them twisted donations from simple minded unaware people. THAT MONSTER who videoed that poor kitten could of easily HELPED that kitten…instead that monster set his sites on watching it suffer and…waiting to get that video to the lab.

PETA NEVER SPENT A DIME TO HELP THe situation. PETA and the ignorant arm-chair enemies are EVIL….they are not out to help…they are out to destroy. I hope they are happy now because almost all of those cats will be put down.
Peta could of helped and sent an INHOUSE VET and the cats would be living in paradise…

Hey PETA—TRY HELPING PEOPLE INSTEAD OF TEARING THEM DOWN. How evil.
