News Release (May 23, 2012)

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that On Monday the 14th day of May 2012 at 7:35 AM, Investigators with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Dodge Caravan for an equipment violation. The vehicle was traveling Westbound on interstate 10 in Madison County.
While Investigators were taking necessary enforcement action concerning the equipment violation, they noted several signs of deception and suspicious activity. A consensual search of the vehicle was conducted that discovered five (5) separate packages determined to be currency.
The currency was commonly packaged in a manner indicative of a drug couriers fashion for transporting currency. A count of the currency revealed the amount to be $32,000.00. The occupants of the vehicle, Eleazar Garcia of Edinburg Texas and Jorge Ramos of Mercedes Texas denied ownership of the currency or having any knowledge of the currency or how mysteriously it became secretly concealed in the dash of the 2004 dodge Caravan. The currency was seized pending forfeiture and the investigation continues.

I am very impressed with the amount of drug and money seizures MCSO has done under leadership of Sheriff Stewart. I would not be surprised if they find the leprechaun’s stash at the end of the next rainbow.

Would Dougie and ARKO be interested in running for public office? I feel sure they could “sniff out” the problems……
