Mr. Jack was such a gentleman. I certainly enjoyed getting to know him at the college. Very quiet, very sweet smile and always pleasant. I am sure he will be greatly missed.

I was jacks second granddaughter. He was a very firm man and helped teach me and the other grandchildren nothing is owed to you. You work for everything you get. I will always remember riding around with him in his truck with “buck” and “jr” his old blue heeler cow dogs. We would ride around for hours. Looking at the cows. And it amazed me how he knew each and every one by their markings and he even knew how many calves they had had. He might have shown me the definition of “tough love” but i know he loved all of us and i will miss him dearly. He was my only grandfather and his first great granddaughter is due in October. Im sorry she couldn’t have met him in person and seen what a great man he was.

  3. Jim Catron says:

Jack Hunter was a friend, a person who had a firm gripe on right and wrong. I met Jack when he was a county commissioner and we were “discussing” “Double Taxation.” Through our conversations I learned to appreciate Jack. Over the years we have talked from time to time. He was an asset to Madison County; I respect Jack for his service and his character. Jack will be missed. The last several years were difficult for him. He was fortunate to have family who cared about Jack.
