U.S. FLAG AT HALF-STAFF IN LAKE FRANCIS
7-23-12
U.S. President Obama has ordered the national flag to be flown at half-staff from July 20 to sunset on July 25, 2012. This action is to honor the victims of the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado. In response to the President’s order Florida Governor Rick Scott has asked that all U.S. and State of Florida flags be lowered to half-staff.
In the rural city of Madison, Florida this reporter was present at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 23, 2012 when city workers boated to the middle of Lake Francis on the east side of the city. They respectfully lowered the American flag to half-staff to remember all those affected by the incident in Aurora, Colorado and comply with the State and Federal directives.

So Mr. Obama happens to be left handed. Used to be that left-handed people were routinely punished and condemned for using that hand because it was “the hand of the devil.” I expect you have something negative to say about that, too, huh?
(Frankly, if we did what you suggest, the flag would have been at half mast for most of the last 10 years to encompass our war in Afghanistan and Bush’s war in Iraq. My vote goes to “let those poor people grieve in peace.”)
This is an absolute slap in the face to all those who died fighting for our country and never had the National Flag lowered for them. Remember the members of Seal Team Six who were killed in Afganistan?
