NFCC welcomes new students to campus

7-26-12

MADISON, FL – With the end of summer comes an exciting time at North Florida Community College – the anticipation and start of fall term. Each August an influx of new and returning students flood the campus and it’s up to NFCC’s Campus Life department to help prepare the newcomers for their NFCC experience.

One way NFCC welcomes its new students is with orientation sessions, required for all new, dual enrollment and transfer students. Orientation is structured specifically to help familiarize new students and their families with the college campus and its multitude of resources and opportunities. It allows new students to explore the campus, get their official student ID, and find out about important campus resources before classes begin.

Two orientation sessions were held in July and two sessions are planned for August: Aug. 9, 5:30-8:30 p.m. and Aug. 20, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. For more information, contact NFCC Campus Life Director Kim Halfhill, (850) 973-1623 or halfhillk@nfcc.edu, or visit www.nfcc.edu/admissions–records/orientation. NFCC’s Fall Term 2012 begins Aug. 22.

    moe,

Man, you could have gone to FAMU. Wise and courageous to stay here at NFJC. Madison County needs you. Thank god you saw it. Learn to pay attention. Read some Joseph Campbell. We are all the same. Moe, spend some time in reflection, and I do not mean with religious folks. Find a Shaman! I do wish my old fried Howard was around, but he passed away last year. Tell you what. Post a cryptic message here, the peasant pays attention.

    Victoria and Ashley,

Yup, that pose will work. It worked on me and would work on any red blooded american male, 50 years ago. But you know what, the peasant can tell from just looking at you that there is something else residing below the surface. Ladies, you both have the ability to discover your mission in life and it is not insignificant. Learn to pay attention. Learn early that there is a thing called the “recency effect.” Just because things were like this last week, last month, last year, does not mean they will be like this tomorrow. The feller you choose to be your mate may not understand that things are changing. Your job will be to provide stability, and assure the next generation …..

    Kevin,

Anyone who can look to the left when what is on the right could very quickly be convicted of not paying attention. It is folks like you who our future depends. I do not know if you are a poet, scientist, politician, or banker. But I get the feeling you are in touch. Peace!

    Danielle,

    Authentic is what I see.
