Obituary – Samuel R. “Sammy” Harris

Hanson: Samuel R. “Sammy” Harris, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in Madison. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel with burial at Hanson Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 – 7 PM at Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel. He was born in Tokyo, Japan and lived in Rockville, CT., before moving to Madison forty two years ago. He was a Mason, a member of National Wildlife Turkey Federation and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Flying remote controlled airplanes was his hobby, but supporting the Women’s Pregnancy Center was his heart. He was owner and operator of Harris Fertilizer Company, and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of thirty nine years: Peggy Newsome Harris; Mother: Yoshiko “Katie” Harris: one Son: Samuel Blake Harris; and one daughter: Meghan Elizabeth Harris. He was preceded in death by his father: Gene Harris. Donations may be made to Florida United Methodist Children’s Home, 51 Children’s Way, Enterprise, Florida 32725.     He is not gone just temporarily absent. Us believers will see him again.

    We have lost a good man. He was a great family man and will be missed by them amd multitudes of family and friends. Jesus had a better plan for Sammy. I considered him a great friend.
