Let the name calling begin. In the absence of a real argument, name calling always works. Socialist. Liberal. Coward and weakling. Maybe we should add a few. Let me help: terrorist. Muslim. UnAmerican. Godless. Idiot. Liar. Nazi. Uppity. Gee, anything else?

Funny thing. It’s always the same people who think that tactic works.

Michele , you did not mention what agency of the federal constabulatory you work for . If the order is ever given to confiscate classes of firearms from the public will you be part of this effort ? If so , I truly hope you are sent to the northeast , Great Lakes or left coast as these folks will readily roll over & surrender as most are big gov’t. libs & socialists . The south , intermountain west & Alaska will , I am afraid for all , become quickly very earthy . I do not believe in those areas you will get any state or local support . As it is , I am an old man & not worth anything .

If teachers want to carry guns then maybe they should complete the law enforcement program first. As a Federal Law Enforcement Officer, I do not agree with teachers having guns in the school. I do agree with assigning a certified officer to the school.

Don’t think I would be too eager to be a principal with this law on the books. Who do you think the bad guy will be looking to take out first—and the bad guy has the element of surprise. Also, where are the kids when this shoot out takes place?

The crazies don’t just randomly wander around looking for people to shoot. They want to be admired for their planning, and dying is often part of the plan. There is no defense against someone like that except not to give them the kind of weapons they need to commit the horrendous acts that they want to commit.
    :(

Great idea in my opinion. I think this is already being done in some TX schools. I am sure the anti gunners are going to cry foul and point out that in the “wishful wonderland” they want to live in we should not go for this. Folks who have made it to the level of principal have obviously demonstrated a level headed approach and I would think that it would take a major threat to cause them to have to utilize a firearm. As a parent of elementary school kids and spouse of teacher I would love to see this go into play in our county also. A concealed carry permit would allow these principals to utilize legal carry to defend themselves and other citizens in other populated areas such as shopping malls, grocery stores, etc., so why not at the one place that has seen the need for immediate defense, a school. This to me makes as much sense if not more than allowing trained airline pilots to carry weapons in cockpits. Yes. There is some distant chance that some accident could occur, but I feel benefits outweigh the costs. How about asking qualified teachers and/or administrators if they would be willing to attend police academy to become reserve officers and then allowing them to carry on campus?
