I think Sarge has hit on something here. Let change taxpayer work schedules to the “Congressional Model.” Those lazy so-and-sos would be at work alright — crying in the aisles while the entire country, and their substidized living, go into the tank. They do “lead” by example, yes? Keeping under with these guys would be more like Mutually Assured Destruction, a term once popular in America when refering to the Russians and the Cold War!! Oh boy, we have met the enemy and he is our own electorate.
That’s right, Angela. It’s a common practice for presidents with antagonistic Congresses. They are not allowed, though, to do just anything under those circumstances. They cannot, for example, make a law. The guy just hired a few people, same as your boss. Mountain out of a molehill. Meanwhile the obstructionists are spending our money and adding to the deficit to pursue it through the courts.
I agree, Sarge. 120 days are fewer days than your kids spend in school, and no teacher I know on any level makes 174,000 a year while working, with insurance and benefits for life, no copayment necessary. And some of these guys dare to say they want to take “entitlements” like Medicare and Social Security away from those of us who have earned them.
That’s just politics. Isn’t it fun?
Angela:
You have to remember that the politicians in Washington, D.C. do not work every day. They meet between 100-120 days a year. If vacanies comes up during the down time, what is the country suppose to do until they decide to come back to work. With a salary of $174,000 per year, we the people of this country should demand that they work a full schedule. Some position in the government are too important to allow a vacancy for a long length of time. Nobody can predict when somebody is going to decide to quit or retire, therefore, they should be available within a certain number of hours of being nofitifed. They say they are there for the people, so let’s require them to be there. If we took that much time off, we would not have a job when we decide to come back work.
@angela,
Don’t panic. Relax and take it easy. Sarge is just stating what’s written in the constitution. Remember we elect or appoint judges to interpret what that document says. As long as “the party” appoints most of the judges we gonna be alright. The 8 yrs of the GWB administration appointed lots of these judges and if you check this decision real closely you will find his judges behind this ruling. Nice hu!
Uncle Rick was up in Charlotte N.C. this past weekend for a big party meeting. We reelected Rancid Penus. as party chairman to head our efforts during the next election cycle. We are not going to change our position on the issues, just change our marketing message so we can get more voters to vote for the party. ( gotta keep appointing those judges.) Not bragging, but I shared Tylers message with many of those I talked too. Many Madison voters are indeed delusional and we can control them.
In the meantime, this important court decision was carefully orchestrated and should be considered as just another tactic to confuse the voting public. The tactic goes like this. Obstruct every effort designed to make government effective and efficient and provide valuable service to the public. Provide examples of things being done that are contrary to the constitution, illegal, or immoral. We want the public to blame government for all the problems confronting by americans today. God forbid they should ever figure our what is really going on.
Let’s get to work!
Okay, now Sarge has me worried. Sounds like all Obummer has to do is wait until the next Senate recess, probably Easter, to slam through legislation harmful to the 2nd Amendment and law-abiding citizens everywhere. Damn the criminals, God knows us regular working folks are what’s despirately wrong with America.
whyy oh why must you post this stuff, the minds of madison are delusional enough bro
Before calling for an impeachment you should go to the United States Constitution. Under Article II Section 2, item #3. Under this article, the Presient may fill vacanies if the Senate is on recess. Since they stated were on recess, even though some may have come back now and then, the full Senate was not in session therefore, there was no violation. With everything the Senate does require 60% to pass, how are you going to have that if the entire Senate in not in session.
@Cantankerous,
Hey Man, time for you to get with the program. We don’t need any confusion. That quote you used, ” if you don’t work, you don’t eat” , was , according to our fact checkers, the sign the NAZIS hung over the entrance of German concentration camps. Perhaps a member of the modern day party would like to clarify this matter.
Anyway, lets be more careful when responding. If you are not sure, check with Mitt, Glen, Bill, or Rushes staff. This is just another example of the confusion that is occurring today that is causing the party to suffer. Stick by our principals but make the message more palatable to the masses.
“The ignorant mind, with its infinite afflictions, passions, and evils, is rooted in the three poisons. Greed, anger, and delusion.” – Bodhidharma
Now finally somebody has got the right idea. Time to go back to that old adage (supposedly coined by John Smith) that if you don’t work, you don’t eat! Forget this big brother is gonna care for you from cradle to the grave. Way it looks to most of my people is we are steadily losing our freedoms because we refuse to make decisions based on our personal individual interest. We have some kinda idealized way of how things oughta be. In truth, rugged individualism is where it’s at.
This is good news. Hopefully congress will begin impeachment proceedings immediately against this unreasonable and cheating president. No matter that for the duration of this presidents term there have not been enough members of the panel to conduct any business. Should have elected Mitt.
Surely everyone understands that any rational businessperson would carefully look at the cost of labor in the USA compared to that in China or other locations and calculate the economic advantages. Got to make a profit, or go out of business. Sorry, unemployed. As you hang around you modest homes wondering what the future holds for you and realize the answer, which is poverty and early death due to poor diet and health care, you get anxious.
These labor unions in america that are represented on these panels such as the labor relations panel are killing profit for the hard working capital of entrepreneurs. Now is the time to stop this crap and understand that if you are offered a job at any wage, you better take it, cause there are many waiting to take your place.
God bless america. Let’s get to work!
Benefits? You people need to understand that it is important to learn to live in the moment. The system can no longer afford to provide care for you after you can no longer contribute.
“It has always seemed strange to me… the things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling, are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest, are the traits of success. And while men admire the quality of the first they love the produce of the second.” John Steinbeck
