   Michael has many of Mike’s ways and makes me proud every day. Life is really hard sometimes and makes us dig deep in our souls for the guidance needed to make right decisions. He has loved ones that will stick by him through thick & thin and that is considered riches.

   He might not be exactly like his daddy, but Michael is the most. respectful tenderhearted caring person.. he may be set in his ways at times but there is not one thing Michael wouldnt do if needed be… he doesnt meet a stranger anywhere he goes so he may speak to more than others but shows same repect to all… he has a great sense of humor and is always making people laugh… So i might not remember much of Mr.Mud bc i was so little but i would bet to say he is proud of Michael in more ways than one. Michael learned those things that a parent should. So whether he is filling his
   fathers shoes or making new shoes for his son to fill is his choice and i believe he is making the right decision.. We are PROUD of you and will stand by you through ANYTHING!! WE LOVE YOU MICHAEL!!

   Mr. Leroy, I can only dream to be half the man he was. It is sad that we usually don’t realize how great someone is until they are gone. But it is a great feeling to hear good friends of his tell stories and speak of him. Thank you.

   Wonder if this Mike Scanlan is the son of “Mud” Scanlan. If so, he’s got a lot to live up too. “Mud” was a true gentleman, scholar, athlete, sage, and best friend to many Madisonian’s. Few passed through our county and left more friends. RIP Mud!
